Billing and Insruance Billing & Insurance Information

We are pleased to accept many different insurance plans but there are certain points you need to be aware of.

The relationship between you and the insurance company you have chosen is a personal one. Each insurance company has multiple products with different co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles. We verify the status of your membership on insurance company website and the amount of co-pay, co-insurance and deductible that you are responsible for. We will then collect monies that are due at time of your visit and bill your insurance for the remainder. It is our office policy that we do not bill for the above as it overwhelms our billing personnel.

This is what your insurance has determined that you pay at each office visit. Depending on the plan you have chosen, the amount will vary fom $0 to $60.

Some insurance plans also assign a co-insurance. If you have chosen such a plan we will collect the precentage at the time of visit. For example if you have 40% coinsurance then we will collect 40% of the office visit charge. So if office visit is $100 we will collect 40% or $40. Your insurance will pay the remaining $60.

The insurance plan that you have chosen may have a deductible associated with it. Typically, if your monthly insurance payment is low, your deductible will be higher. Deductable amounts vary from $500 to about $2500. In order for your insurance to pay any physician bill you must pay for your deductible first. So if your deductible has not been met when you are seen in the office, we would collect the co-pay or co-insurance and office visit fee at time of the visit. Frequently we only charge you for 30% of the office visit to make sure we cover any discount we provide to your insurance company.
